Welcome!

Hi! I am Elizabeth and my daughter is Saylor-James aka SayJ! We are a transracial family through a domestic adoption. I adopted SayJ as a single person so we can add single parenthood in the mix too.  We are ... well I am very excited and anxious to share our life and journey with you.  She's 2 and along for the ride. :)

I want this site and my life to be a loud constant echo for inclusion, equality and representation... and by action to shatter boundaries and to be a safe place that shares, learns, provides and provokes us to talk about "it"...whatever "it" needs and should be for us to be the best we can be for our lil ones.

My purpose is clear and that is to re-design this world that was not designed for those that look like my daughter.

I am not an expert and definitely do not have all the answers, I AM an unwavering momma that has a purpose, a voice and in need for others (a village)  to help navigate parenthood and being a white momma raising a brown child.  To be in this wonderful but complex family dynamic is a tremendous blessing and opportunity that I believe God designed me for and for me.  I do not know what all that means but I have stepped out on faith to find out.

All that we share, all the questions we ask on this site and on social media is for all of us...every color, every family dynamic, every belief system and more importantly for those that want to change how they view others, for those that want to be accepting and inclusive, to those that want and need to ask "those" questions; to ultimately know this is a safe place to figure out how to live in a transracial family and so much more...

I hope you join this journey with us....

~E & SayJ
